“It’s hard for me to stop like everyone else and I’m also a Freudian book neurotic and my head never stops and I’m driving like everyone else, but in this break something is happened because I remember that at the beginning when I stop I say: ‘I’m going to see if I’m composing, if I’m learning English, if I’m doing sports’, I stopped a bit and I said: ‘I want to see what happens with nothing, but I devoted myself a little to reading, to cooking, to being with my family, with my friends, I did not have a plan, if one day I I’ve already done everything I have to do and I wanted to see what would happen to me with that.”he said.

The artist reflected on this hectic world, where the excess of information and the constant use of mobile phones have gradually alienated us from our nature and contributed to affecting the mental health of thousands of people in their daily lives. However, music was for him something therapeutic, escapist and encounter with his own person:

“Music, to me, is therapeutic and I found something completely absorbing. I don’t know if I’m into music, I’m into music. But it happens to me with a lot of things, love, how I feel about my partner or how I feel about my family or my friends. One of my favorite things is cooking and eating, reading makes me feel alive, in the end life is in the little things. It makes me feel like we’re less important than we think,” he said.

It took El Kanka five years to compose the songs that make up his new musical production and, refreshingly, the artist and his musicians recorded this album in a fairly classic way, as they all came together to play and share their proposals. on each of the themes.

“I compose because I compose, before thinking that I was going to record an album that I was already composing, I liked to express myself through songs“, assured the Malagan.
