DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Billionaire Elon Musk said Wednesday he hopes to find a new CEO for Twitter “probably towards the end of this year.”
In a video address at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk said making sure the platform could work remained his priority.
“I think I need to stabilize the organization and make sure it’s in a healthy financial position,” Musk said when asked when he would appoint the new CEO. “I guess probably towards the end of This year.”
Musk made his fortune on financial site PayPal and later founded aerospace company SpaceX and electric car maker Tesla. Recent attention has focused on the chaos surrounding its $44 billion purchase of the microblogging platform.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian military’s use of Starlink satellite internet service in its defense against Russian invasion has linked Musk to the conflict.
Forbes estimates Musk’s fortune to be close to $200,000 million and places him as the second richest person on the planet behind French luxury tycoon Bernard Arnault.
