The list of awesome and ambitious Skyrim mods is incredibly long, and the Bethesda-based RPG continues to inspire creativity in its players 12 years after its release. However, other than shouting “fus ro dah” in their face, so far the heroic Dragonborn hasn’t been able to fully speak to the people of Tamriel. But all that has changed. If you want your hero in Skyrim to act more like the lone survivor of Fallout 4 and listen to his sweet tones as he wanders the world of The Elder Scrolls, a new Skyrim mod finally gives your custom character a full voice.
Aptly titled “Dragonborn Voice Over”, the mod uses AI to generate spoken dialogue for every conversation in Skyrim. Creator “Mathiew May” assumes there are around 7,000 lines “made” by the AI. It’s even very convincing. Some lines may seem a little forced, but overall, Dragonborn Voice Over makes the world of Skyrim feel more real and alive than ever.
Giving voice to the character was definitely a welcome change in Fallout 4, as it gave your protagonist and the game’s story a bit more weight and plausibility. A perfect excuse to return to Skyrim, you can see Dragonborn Voice Over in action below.
At the moment, voice packs are available for both male and female human characters, with Mathiew May planning additional packs to cover Argonian, Orc, and Khajiit Dragonborns. However, as DSO Gaming reports, it only works in English. If you play Skyrim in another language, unfortunately no voice packs are currently available. You can download Dragonborn Voice Over here.
