The Dark and Darker playtest has been extended on Steam, and the developers are hoping to make up for lost playtime due to fake bans. DnD’s dungeon-crawling RPG game will now be available for a few more days, after the original playtest was affected by downtime, and Ironmace creators aim to fix issues with the Trading Post and pairing.
Following a statement from Ironmace, the current Dark and Darker playtest will now run until February 16, a three-day extension that will see it continue beyond Steam Next Fest. This is apparently to help players make up for any hours they may have lost due to being banned incorrectly or due to lack of access to certain game features during downtime.
“Hello everyone,” writes Ironmace. “Due to previous downtime with trade posts, matchmaking and loss of game time for players who were mistakenly banned, we have decided to extend the test until February 16. We are also planning to ‘use this time to resolve issues that make players uncomfortable and to continually improve the game.’
Unlike the previous Dark and Darker playtest, however, this time around Ironmace won’t split the leaderboard into two halves, meaning you might have to push yourself a bit harder to reach the top spots. However, giving players more time in Dark and Darker and working on some of the game’s issues in the meantime can only be a good thing before the RPG’s full release.
Since the Dark and Darker demo was released on Steam, the game has had over 100,000 concurrent players, putting it on most-played lists alongside mammoths like Dota 2 and Hogwarts Legacy. Check out the system requirements for Dark and Darker if you plan to participate.
