The North American Leaders Summit, known as the “Three Amigos”, will be held on Tuesday with the participation of the three leaders, who will discuss issues related to security, the economy and international affairs.
The last time Biden, López Obrador and Trudeau met was in 2021 at the White House. Under the presidency of Donald Trump (2017-2021) no summit of the Three Amigos was held.
The new immigration plan presented by Biden on Thursday and applauded by the Mexican government contemplates delivering 30,000 humanitarian permits per month for Venezuelan, Cuban, Nicaraguan and Haitian migrants who have a sponsor who pays for their stay in the United States.
In contrast, those who cross the border without permission will be immediately returned to Mexico and banned from entering the country for five years.

Biden arrived in Mexico after making a stop in El Paso, Texas, on his first visit as president to the border with Mexico, a region he has been avoiding for two years in the face of criticism from the Republican opposition.
