Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, governor of Baja California, announced the construction of a new General Hospital that will be located in the East Zone of the municipality of Tijuana, which will serve more than 750 thousand people residing in the area, responding to one of the sectors with the highest population growth in the state.
It should be noted that, once said new hospital unit enters into operation, pressure will be reduced from the current General Hospital, which currently meets the demand of the city.
During the fifty-seventh edition of “Wednesday Morning with Marina del Pilar”, the state president pointed out that since the first days of the administration, work has been done to guarantee the rights of all people, one of the main ones being the right to Health.
Marina del Pilar highlighted that, unlike previous governments, the administration that she heads is developing actions to build opportunities in favor of all groups in society that were forgotten for decades.
The Head of the State Executive Branch explained that a city like Tijuana, which is home to two million people, requires planning work that seeks to guarantee all the services that are the responsibility of the State, especially public health.
She gave as an example the development of a cancer center in the city of Tijuana, which has offices, a center for the preparation of chemotherapy and spaces for its application, as well as a mammography, with personnel specialized in caring for cancer patients.
For his part, the Secretary of State Health, J. Adrián Medina Amarillas, informed about the opening of the Health Center in the Villas del Prado neighborhood, a demand from the residents registered and attended by the state authorities.
Regarding the East Zone General Hospital, Governor Marina del Pilar pointed out that through it the project of having a second level unit that seeks to bring hospitalization services closer together is consolidated.
“With this hospital we will be able to have 60 available beds, being able to care for patients in trauma and orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery and emergency services,” explained the state president.
In this three-level hospital, intensive care services will also be provided for both adults and neonatal patients, in addition to having an outpatient service, as well as labor-delivery-recovery rooms to guarantee a dignified delivery.
The Governor highlighted the permanent support of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to allocate the necessary federal investment to complete the medical infrastructure works in key communities in the entity.
“This project is also a concrete example of the commitment we made to the inhabitants of the East Zone, to promote the development of quality services throughout Tijuana, not just in some areas of the city as was the case before,” added the Governor , who made reference to the advances in the matter obtained during the first 14 months of the administration.
