The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (87%), a television series inspired by the work of acclaimed fantasy writer J.R.R. Tolkien , and developed by John D. Payne and Patrick McKay, arrived with its first two episodes on Amazon Prime Video on September 1 and fans are enjoying it to the fullest. The initial episodes premiered on Amazon’s streaming service at 8 p.m., with the rest arriving a few hours later than usual, according to information from ComicBook.com.
The Rings of Power transports us to the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (91%). The show stars Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Owain Arthur as Prince Durin IV, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Nazanin Boniadi as Bronwyn, Anson Boon as Sauron, and Ismael Cruz Cordova as Arondir.
Even though Prime Video had set specific release dates for its movies and TV shows like The Rings of Power, a recent change in scheduling has been reported that has fans quite upset. Unlike episodes 1 and 2 of the show, the third episode will premiere a little later and will be available on Thursday, September 8 at 11 p.m. m. Mexico’s time.
The change in the premiere time of the episodes of The Rings of Power applies to everyone in their respective time zones. Amazon Prime Video confirmed through a statement in August (via ComicBook.com) that while the first two episodes of The Rings of Power would arrive at 6 p.m. m. PT/9p. m. ET (8 pm Mexico time), all other episodes of the first season will arrive three hours later. Amazon reported the following:
The episodes will be released at the same time around the world, so all fans can experience them simultaneously. The eight-episode season one finale will air on October 14.
Fans of the show did not take the announcement well and were furious to note that episode 3 was not available on the platform at the previously set time. You can see some featured tweets below:
Wait, RoP isn’t coming on Thursdays like last week? I don’t watch the new episode damn it.
Why the heck isn’t there a new episode of #RingsOfPower #RingsOfPowerOnPrime tonight? Why make the premiere on a Thursday if it will not arrive on Thursdays.
